G-Med Brings Back the “Community” to Conferences
Physicians have long been attending live and in-person conferences to maintain their skills, learn updates in the medical world and for personal and professional interactions with colleagues which lead to new research collaborations and personal networking.
During the COVID-19 worldwide pandemic many conferences have been cancelled or moved online which has affected education, training and networking. Whilst certain benefits from face-to-face interactions are difficult to replicate during virtual conferences, in the future virtual conferences will have an invaluable role in education, training and networking.
G-Med realized that the networking and personal interaction, a most valuable asset of the physical conferences, was missing in the medical virtual conferences. Physicians, who were flying out from all parts of the world to see their colleagues and catch up over their annual conference coffee break, suddenly lost those meaningful moments which could not be replaced during the virtual medical conferences.
G-Med, being an interactive and modern platform, that is by nature a social network, managed to bring back the feeling of community to the conferences. We managed to create conference mini-communities evolving around the global conferences in which physicians learn, share and interact with each other, creating virtual personal interaction.
